Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector daily all-in-one BB cream REVIEW

I heard the hype surrounding BB creams a while back and I wanted to give this one a try. BB stands for Blemish Balm and essentially is supposed to be moisturiser/primer/foundation all in one tube. BB creams originated in Korea where they are in fact much better than they are in Europe.
Firstly they have a wider range of colours available and many have a mattifying effect unlike the Garnier one. It's quite thick but doesn't give very good coverage and left my face looking very shiny. The upside is, like a tinted moisturiser, it blends in well. It has a pleasant fragrance but to be honest I think i'm better off going through each step individually when I apply my make up so I can't really recommend this product. I've just bought the same Garnier BB cream but for oily complexions so I'll give that one a go and let you know if it's any better!

GHD Straightening Irons First Impressions

I have wanted these for over a decade and when I started working I never managed to save up enough and i always came across other things to spend my money on. I finally bought them today in heathrow airport for £99.99 although I think they can be found for around £84.00 online. I got the classic IV styler.
I had huge expectations for these straighteners and was hoping for a small miracle when I used then for the first time. They are fantastic, better than any other hair straighteners I have used in the past but my hair is very thick and curly/wavy/frizzy and medium-long so i still needed to go over each section a few times. It probably would have worked out a lot better if I'd rinsed the conditioner out of my hair properly. The only downsides really are that you cannot alter the temperature and the plates cannot lock together (as with my previous tresemme straighteners) but thats probably a good thing as smacking the plates together damages them. I recommend you use a good heat protector spray if you don't want your hair to be excessively damaged. I'm excited to try curling my hair with them soon. I think the price is reasonable if you take into account that other, lesser straightening irons are similarly priced. I will do an in-depth review after I've had a chance to use them for a while.
Which straighteners do you use and are you happy with them?

French Haul

I thankfully had the opportunity to do a bit of shopping whilst I was in France for work last week. I wanted to stock up on items I know i won't have easy access to once I'm back living in England and purchase some items I've been dying to try for a while now.

I bought a Clarins set, Avene micellar water, a Nuxe mini set and some Nars products. I was just stocking up on the Bioderma! I'm terrified of being without as it's my go to make up remover.

I will do reviews in a month when I've had a chance to test all the products.

The Perfect Mojito

I'm a huge mojito fan, but I don't want to encourage binge or underage drinking in any way. This recipe works just as well alcohol free and is probably a great deal better for you.
This will be enough for a couple of cocktails:

You'll need a few sprigs of fresh mint. Using syrup just isn't the same.
2 limes, quartered.
A few teaspoons of pure cane sugar (white will not work)
Sparkling lemonade or sparkling water- it depends how sweet you like them.
3 shots of White or brown rum depending on your preference.
Crushed ice.

Squish the lime together with the sugar until the juice is all out.
Add the rum. Divide into individual glasses and add ice until the glass is 60% full. Top off with lemonade/water.
Make sure you mix as you drink to stop the sugar from settling and enjoy!

Miss Selfridge Haul Vlog

Miss Selfridge Haul

My order has finally arrived after 4 days of waiting!
I had a look in the Sale online and scouted for some cheap items to wear on nights out etc and found these three.

These shorts are very short. They're more like knickers than anything else. I'd wear mine with a sheer blouse (as seen in the video) and heels with possibly a long chain necklace. I bought them for £5 in the sale but were £22 originally. Bargain!

This crop top/bralet is miniscule. More like a strip of material really but I quite like it and would wear it with high waisted shorts or skirt and a strapless bra (obviously). Again I purchased this in the sale for a fiver! Originally £22 so I got a really good deal there.

The playsuit is unlike something I'd usually buy.. as the playsuits I own are all black, and only really wear on nights out. But I thought for the summer months I'd wear something a bit more colourful to wear during the day time down the park or around town. The cowl neck stops this playsuit from being too dull and has a backless slit at the back aswell. I'd most definately wear this with some sort of belt, and ballet pumps or sandals. This was £17 in the sale but £35 originally.

My order came to around £25 with student discount and £4 p&p so I'm pleased!
I won't be returning any thankfully, so you'll probably be seeing me wearing them throughout the blog. I'm just about to upload a video of me trying them on and opening my order for the first time. So stay tuned!

Do you have any of these items? What would you wear them with? Where would you wear them to?

Diddy Beats

These are truly the best headphones I've ever had the privilege of owning and listening with!
The sound is crisp and clear and the bass isn't flat like you'd find with other cheaper headphone brands. These even have a Control Talk feature meaning you can use them to answer phone calls.
They come with a variety of ear plugs to suit your ear size and comfort preferences etc. As I have small ears I've had to go for the long interesting looking attachments as the rounded ones don't stay in my ear!

Beats suggest you "break in" the headphones to get the best quality sound. So they advise you to play music at full volume for eight hours - they don't have to be in your ears. This is so the sound quality is able to reach its highest and not be crackley or dull.
Do you have any Beats Audio headphones? Or any that you think are better?

NEW FAVOURITES

These are now my favourite shoes.
I've been waiting till I had enough money to buy some new heels, and I finally have! Let's celebrate!
I've seen this style of shoe around for a while now and I've been trying to get hold of a pair for myself. I know Missguided have loads of different colours to choose from but I was just browsing (yeah right) in a shop called Ark in York and I saw these beauties.

SHOPPING HAUL

Stopping myself from buying things in Topshop is becoming even more difficult. Or rather buying things in general especially as I work in the city centre of York along the main highstreet so I have to walk past various shops on my way to and from work.
With Topshop.. if I walk past it.. I have to go in.. If I go in.. I have to buy something.. SUCH a slippery slope!

So to stop myself from being flat out broke all the time, Ive started only buying sale items, which is  a start I guess..

I came accross these four items in the sale the other week and I couldn't be happier with my purchases! Luckily they had them in my size or I probably would have broken down in tears right there on the shop floor!

I bought this grey and mint green outfit for about £10! I never usually buy full outfits when I'm shopping as I'm never really in the frame of mind to think about what goes and what doesn't, but I was bored and had loads of time on my hands to I could actually look around properly.
I saw the top immediately and when I realised it was in my size I decided I wanted it straight away. Its simple, it's lightweight and would be perfect for what I was expecting to be a hot (or at least warm) summer in the UK.

And then I came across these other shorts which I absolutely LOVE! I've worn them about 5 times already with a crop top or just a vest tucked in. They're very unlike what I'd usually wear (I'm more of a leggings and a top kind of girl) But I've recently decided that I want to expand my wardrobe with different styles and to be honest; a bit more colour! Most of my clothes were dark and boring with a few splashes of burgundy here and there but no real bright colours so I've started buying more coloured items.

I really like these shorts but haven't had a chance to wear them yet as the weather hasn't been right. But as soon as it's sunny you'll see me out there parading round in these cute shorts. They're made of quite a thick material so you'll definately need to wear these tight-less and the mint green piping is a nice addition and adds the slightest bit of colour to an otherwise plain piece.

I've been looking for some nice sandals for ages now and as I'm not a huge fan of feet I've never been too keen on getting mine out as much as this. But I tell you what... Walking to work in the mornings and walking home again has been a much more pleasant journey with these on. I wore UGGS the other day to work and my feet were so unbelievably hot and in this wet humid weather sandals really have been a god send! And at £7 I really couln't argue!

Adrenalin by Topshop

I've also recently become quite the Glitter fan and have been painting my nails with various glitter nail varnished for a couple weeks now. This has gone straight to the top of my favourites list though as it is such a nice colour and you can get the glitter to apply really thick or just a few sparkles here and there which is something I've found hard to do with O.P.I's glitter varnishes. When I had this Topshop one on, I had people comment daily on how they liked it. So this has my seal of approval!

Finally I bought some sunglasses as I'd forgotten mine that day and I didn't want to be blinded on my way home so I got these cute ones for £8. I'm a huge fan of the Ray Ban styles; Aviator, Wayfarer etc but as I'm a humble student I haven't as of yet been able to save up to buy myself a real pair so I'm having to settle for look-a-likes for the time being but I really like how these look. Luckily I have that shape face where I can pull off most sunglasses styles and shapes!

All in all, I spent about £50 more or less.. which is a lot better than the £70/£80 I would have spent if they werent sale items!
THANK GOD FOR STUDENT DISCOUNT!

LUSH Glogg Shower Gel Review

image
I got this for Christmas and have only just got around to trying it out. It is Definately a very Christmassy scent. It’s cinnamon-y and warming which would be ideal for use in winter. It has a decent lather and rinses off easily . It did leave my skin smelling a little funny and quite dry. I don’t think I would go out and purchase this for myself and it’s by far my least favourite lush shower gel. For me, snow fairy will always be most deliciously scented, holiday themed, shower gel

Biotherm pure-fect skin Review

After having tried out the combination to oily skin 3 step prouducts from the biosphere pure-fect skin range I can say that I was happy with the results. I normally use the Clinique 3 step Skincare routine but it hasn’t been working out for me lately.
The first step is an anti-shine purifying cleansing gel- this didnt feel like anything special, just a regular facial soap.

It has quite a masculine citrus scent which I didn’t really like but it did leave my face feeling clean, if a little tight. It had a good lather but rinsed off quite easily. I stupidly got some in my eye which stung a little but nothing major, as it’s quite mild.
Then came the micro-exfoliating purifying toner-
I applied this with a cotton round, as directed. It was slightly more astringent than the Clinique toner and smells worse. It didn’t really have a burning effect though which is good.
It left my skin looking a little less shiny and my pores felt a lot tighter which I guess meant it was working!
Finally the pure skin effect hydrating gel- I quite liked this moisturiser. It soaked in quickly and did have an anti-shine effect, which was long lasting. It smelled gross though which was a downside. I prefer unperfumed or a nicer non-chemical scent.
Overall I would recommend this Skincare system for somebody looking for one. I don’t know about the long term use effects but short term, this did seem to work well for me.

Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM Damier Ebene

I bought this bag a couple of months ago- I’ve always loved this bag because its such a classic. I know that I will get a lot of use out of this bag too which made it a bit easier to spend such a ridiculous amount of money on it. The only downside is that because its so huge it gets very heavy very quickly but thats my fault not the bag! I have a tendency to take everything with me everywhere. It is not made from leather (just the trim and straps are) which makes it not such a good value for money product but i love it anyway. Because of my height and all the stuff I always carry around, I opted for the GM size which is the largest.
image
I really recommend this bag, if anybody is having trouble deciding whether or not too get it-just do it. I chose the damier ebene pattern because i felt it was the most subtle and goes with more things. Plus it will not show dirt or wear & tear as easily.

Guess Bags

Generally I’m not a huge fan of guess, especially not the bags. I prefer more classic shapes and designs. Guess bags tend to be a bit too sparkly or shiny for me. I don’t particularly like this bag but i think the slogans are super cute!

Kerastase Nutritive Oleo-Relax.

I recently bought the Kerastase nutritive Oleo-Relax. It is a anti-frizz nutri-oil. It is supposed to
'smooth and control dry and rebellious hair’
It works by applying a small amount from the mid length to the ends of your damp hair. I found the effects to be similar to using Moroccan oil or Camille Albane shine serum. I was pleased with this product as my hair was much more manageable after using this!
I should mention that my hair is wavy-curly and very frizzy, so something that can help control that is always helpful!
I do reccomend this product, despite the price (16 euros) it did what it said on the bottle!

SPRING OBSESSIONS

image

Essie is finally stocked in department stores here in Switzerland, even if the prices are ridiculously inflated. I love the metallic range thats just been brought out here. I’m not a fan of slightly shimmery polishes and I like either near matte or very shiny/ glittery. Luckily the new collection in perfect and the effect is similar to having coloured foil on my nails. I bought ‘nothing else metals’. I was quite disappointed with the spring collection and I had hoped to see some nice matte pastels. This one is a little boring but sun cream has been one of my go to products for the last few weeks. The temperature has been pretty up and down but it has been in the mid 20s most afternoons which means I’ve been spending more time outside. I have olive skin which means I don’t burn easily but I like to use some sun protection for wrinkle prevention and avoiding skin cancer. My favourite is probably Clarins sun care soothing cream SPF 20. I do like to use garnier oil with SPF 20 too if I’m trying to build a tan. It bronzes your skin gently in the sun whilst still offering decent protection. I am in love with the Marc Jacobs kumquat perfume I discovered in a department store here. There’s a range that includes kumquat, hibiscus and rain. I’m one of those people who would like to have a signature scent and only ever where that perfume as I am really fussy, I tend to only switch between Chanel chance and chanel coco mademoiselle. I feel that the kumquat scent is perfect, it’s not childishly sweet or too strong is deliciously citrusy and perfect for spring. What are your spring obsessions? Xoxo Kirsty

Recent Purchase Review

I also realise I haven’t posted in quite a while.. I do apologise, but I’ve been quite weighed down with work and essays for Uni.
These three items I’ve bought within the last month or so.. and I am so pleased with them all.
image
This is a MUST-HAVE item! Every girl should own some sort of lip stain! They are so useful! I carry mine in my bag with me at all times just incase I go on a spur of the moment trip to a cocktail bar with my friends and a bit of lippy is required. Even if I’m not wearing make-up, apply this and it instantly brings a bit of life to your face, even if you look a bit tired and hungover!
It’s Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Transferproof lip tint + balm in 006 Cherry on Cherry.
And not to mention that it smells absolutely DIVINE! almost edible!
It really does last for hours on end and much less messy than lip stick which is sticky and transfers easily.
I 100% recommend this lip tint!
The second buy was a foundation.. I was a little disappointed eventually with my Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam that I bought a while ago, as the coverage was not as thick as I needed. It was perfect for what I needed to start with, but as the cold weather seemed to be staying, making my cheeks pink and skin rather dry and pale and the constant late nights, I needed something thicker that could give my face an all over “new skin”. Hoping to create a new evenly coloured layer on my face, I bought the thickest foundation I could think of… Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in 040 Fawn. Still light to touch, but has amazing coverage, covering any blemishes I have and giving me a clean blank canvas.
image
When I first used this product a few years ago, I wasn’t impressed and the choice and range of colours was minimal so I either looked ghostly or resembling a tangerine. Now however, they have more colours to better match your skin tone
The Third was something my mum bought for me. As earlier mentioned, my skin is quite blothchy - mainly from excessive unnecessary use of acne cream (I used it when I had clear skin.. to KEEP it clear - something which I don’t recommend.. as it bleaches your skin) So yeah.. my skin has pale patches so my skin tone is really uneven and then when my face is too hot or too cold.. like most people, the sides of my cheeks get red.. but stay red for ages.
image
No7 have this Calm Skin Redness-relief Balm that works wonders! It’s hypo-allergenic so anyone can use it, even if they have super-sensitive skin! It is to be used underneath your normal moisturiser, it is supposed to calm your skin, then strengthen and hydrate throughout the day. Since using it, my face is looking a lot less blotchy!

MARCH FAVOURITES

I realise that this is ridiculously late, and i basically have posted nothing in the last month but Ill try and make more of an effort.
1. Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzing makeup base is really good for adding a bit of a sun kissed glow to your cheeks. I found it to be a bit too much all over my face when under foundation but as a bronzer it is lovely. It has a really good consistency and goes on well.
2. MAC 217 blending eyeshadow brush. its perfect. no shedding, thick and soft.
3. Athanor Deodorant Mineral Stone Its literally a stone that you wet and apply as a roll on. Its aluminium, perfume and conservative free. It doesn’t leave a sticky residue and it hasn’t been tested on animals. It is a little more expensive than a generic roll on but i think its worth it. I really hate it when the scent of deodorant overpowers my perfume so this is ideal, although it doesn’t last quite as long as others. I did have to reapply it sooner as well.
4. Urban Decay Naked Palette (the original) I finally bought this just over a month ago. Its amazing. Ill try and do a detailed review soon.
5. Clarins HydraQuench Cream is my favourite rich moisturiser. Its very heavy so i tend to apply it before going to bed. It works wonders on my random dry skin areas on my face. I contains spf15 which is great for the daytime too.

TOPSHOP…. my second home.. quite literally.. I find it impossible to walk past it without going in.. and I find it even more impossible to go in and not buy anything!! I love these ring chains at the moment! some are so cute!
image
I bought this one for about £6.75 ( LOVE student discount!) (originally its £7.50) It’s simple and cute. The ring can pretty much fit around any sized finger and the bracelet part is adjustable to fit to any size wrists too! The chain its self if dainty and simple with a small skull between the ring and bracelet parts.. I was going to get a more edgy design with 3 separate ring bits and chains and things everywhere, but I thought this was more suited to my style and taste :) Do you own a ring chain? If so, which one and would you recommend any? Xx Jasmine

Spot Treatment Review

image
Occasionally I get really bad break outs and when I do the first thing on my mind is getting rid of any blemishes as fast as possible. I have tried three different solutions:
Essence PureSkin Anti-Spot Gel: This gel claims to rapidly dry up spots and impurities but in reality just made my skin feel very tight in the areas I applied it and it felt like my skin was burning. No pain no gain is completely untrue; If something hurts it is very unlikely to be doing you any good! This gel had no visible effects on a blemish despite applying several times a day as directed. Plus the blemish lasted just as long as usual.
e.l.f. Zit Zapper: This liquid is supposed to “fight and prevent acne, reduce redness and swelling and minimise pore size”. I certainly felt like it helped reduce the size of visible pores as my skin felt a little tighter after use. I would not at all say that it reduces redness for me but that is probably because it contains tea tree oil, which I am mildly allergic to. This product is dispensed my rollerball which I find a bit unhygienic as it was difficult to apply the liquid to a cotton bud and then to my face as with the other two I tested. This was not my favourite although I did think that it reduced the amount of time the blemish was present!
Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Spot Treatment Gel: This product worked best for me. It visibly reduced redness and spots would only last a day before disappearing, I highly recommend this product.

LUSH Bubblegum Lipscrub Review

image
I have been using this scrub every other day for the last fortnight and my lips are noticeably softer. Winter weather and strong wind really wreaks havoc on my lips and makes them feel really dry and chapped no matter how many times a day I apply lip balm so this was a great remedy. If you wear a lot of lipstick rather than balm I would really recommend this because nothing looks worse than flaky lips under lip stick!
This scrub smells so good (just like the Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel) It is edible as it is made predominantly from sugar and jojoba oil. The instructions actually say “lick off the excess”.
Lush have other lip scrubs in the range but I think that this one had the most delicious scent. I really like this product although it would be much more cost effective to make a quick lip scrub at home from sugar and oils.

LUSH face mask Review

On a recent shopping trip, I popped into Lush for a quick inhale of the wonderous smell that always oozes out of their doors and I noticed a small table with face mask products on and I got a whiff of chocolate, so immediately took up a bowl of a chocolate scented mud-like substance with chocolate chips on! It smelled.. DIVINE! almost edible!
image
According to their label -
“We invented this mask for younger skins and for those who are new to face masks and want to use something that’s cheerful and cheeky but still effective and good at its job”
It has cocoa powder, vanilla absolute and spearmint oil to relieve the skin of spots and to smell nice and had a Linseed infusion to “nourish and soften the skin”, fresh mint to tone, cocoa butter as a moisturiser and Rhassoul mud to absorb any oil within the skin and give a deep cleanse. I asked for a free sample and the kind woman at the till gave me two small pots full of the sweet smelling mud.
image
This stuff is a god send! Literally after one use my skin had cleared up completely! I usually have quite oily skin and a few blemishes here and there as well as the occasional spot when I don’t eat healthily, but this literally eradicated anything I had on my face; leaving me clear and smooth and nourished and moisturised. A little really does go a long way. I only used probably a 1 pence sized amount and it gave really good coverage.
image
It doesn’t even need to go on very thickly; just enough to cover the skin, avoiding the eyes. Once applied, leave it 5 -10 minutes and wash off with warm water. Do this at least once a week and your skin will forever be perfect!
image
It does need to be kept in the fridge. But literally.. once you open the pot, you’ll want to be eating it, not applying it to your face. I STRONGLY recommend this product. It is BY FAR the best face mask I’ve used! It does everything you could want.. Smell nice, get rid of spots, tone your skin, leave it moisturised, nourished, remove excess oil from your skin as well as soften and cleanse your skin. Head to your nearest Lush and buy it!.. SERIOUSLY. Or visit their website hereXx Jasmine

Lipstick faves

I’m never really been much of a Lipstick-wearing kinda gal, but I’ve made a personal exception for these three.
image
The first is a very peachy pink colour. I wear this if I just want to bring a bit of colour to my lips when my facial make up is a bit bland. It is Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Creme in 117 Almost Nude. The stick itself is very simple with the Revlon Gold band across the middle and a transparent top of the lid.
image
The second is by No7. It is more of a purpley red colour which I wear on a night out if my hair is down and I’m not wearing much eye make-up, to add a bit of colour to my face. Again, this lipstick has a very simple design to the tube with nothing but the No7 logo on the lid. This lipstick is No7 Moisture Drench in 25 Highland Mist.
image
The third is another favourite of mine. It is a very pinky colour, a colour you’d almost associate with Barbie. But really nice once it’s on! The tube itself is again very simple, with a cream coloured lid and base with a gold band with the brand name on. I wear this during the day, again when I’m not wearing much make up. This lipstick is Dr Pierre Ricaud Révèle Éclat Rouge éloquent Lipstick in Rose perlé. I have no idea how I came about owning this to be honest!
image
Here’s a swatch to show you what they look like colour-wise :)
I have to say.. My favourite is the Revlon Almost Nude. It is such a natural colour; you can wear it anywhere.. or even just wear it for the sake of wearing lipstick! The stick itself is very nourishing and moisturising on the lips, unlike others I’ve come across which have just dried my lips out.
These are the three I use the most :)

Burts Bees

I have tried Burt’s Bees products before, also from a gift set. In theory I really like the idea of natural based products, but sometimes the scents can be a bit off-putting.
This was a christmas present and its taken me about 3 months to get round to trying everything inside. There is a body lotion missing because I left it at my parents house. It wasn’t fantastic anyway and the scent reminded me of old milk.
image
I have had the Burt’s Beeswax Lip Balm before and I do like it, it’s great if you have super chapped lips.
I was excited to see the Lip Shimmer in Champagne because I have wanted to try it for a while. It is really nice and minty and has the same effect on chapped lips as the classic beeswax balm but it is not as soothing. I didn’t really like this particular shade as it was very pale for me and just did not suit me at all. I would like to try one of the darker shades though because it is rare to find a really nice moisturising lip colour balm.
The only peach facial scrub I have ever used is the St Ives one and I was intrigued to try the Peach & Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub. Unfortunately this product was probably my least favourite in the entire set. My face felt really gross and greasy after I washed my face, plus the peach bits are not very fine and scratched my face. I had to wash my face with my usual face wash after.
The Radiance Day Cream with Royal Jelly was a fairly good moisturiser but a little bit too rich for the day time. I didn’t really like the smell but it wasn’t enough to put me off using it. I don’t think I would repurchase this in full size.
Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Conditioner did make my hair shinier than usual, especially after a quick rinse with cold water.
Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo did clean my hair well but irritated my scalp.
I liked the Extra Energizing Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash because it does have a very invigorating scent and did leave my skin squeaky clean.
Overall I did like this set and I think it is the perfect gift for somebody who likes to try different products. Unfortunately none of these products really measured up to my usual ones so I won’t be buying them in full size. The only product I would really recommend would be the Beeswax Lip Balm.

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

I completely forgot to do this, the shortness of this month kind of threw me off…
1. TRESemmé Salon Sleek smooth memory frizz controller: My hair is super frizzy as its naturally wavy/curly. I straighten my hair a lot so this comes in handy.
2. Tangle Teezer: I have wanted this for so long but I couldn’t find it anywhere so I had to get it from the UK. I got the standard one in hot pink. It really is amazing. My usual hairbrush feels like it does damage to my hair but this detangles without tugging. plus its like a little scalp massage with every stroke.
3. Clinique anti-blemish solutions: This works pretty well for me. My skin is awful at the moment and this has really improved it.
4. Batiste Dry Shampoo in sassy & daring wild: I love the scent of this, its so much better than the original. Im a massive fan of dry shampoo for giving my hair some volume or making it easier to style when its too clean. Also it does make my hair last an extra day if its in need of a wash.
5. Shu Uemura Eyelash curlers: These are so much better than the H&M curlers I was using previously. I was always really scared they would cut my lashes off.

WHATS IN MY BAG

Im addicted to watching whats in my bag videos on youtube so I thought I would do a post version. The handbag that I am using at the moment is from Zara.
image
I took out the inner bag thingy because it really got on my nerves. I could never find anything inside and it kept falling off the little button things and to the bottom of the bag. I usually tie a scarf around the handle, but I took it off to put around my neck because I got cold.
image
I like to keep my handbag organised so I tend to stuff everything into a pouch. Ive been using my Mulberry one because the zip broke on the H&M one I was using previously. Inside I keep a compact mirror, tissues, Halo deodorant wipes, Bubblicious bubble gum in cotton candy and a random grape one, my train pass, orbit chewing gum, kirby grips, spare hair bands, Dove mini spray deodorant, cold & flu pills because I’m ill :( , iPod shuffle and headphones, O.P.I Avojuice skin quencher in Vanilla Snowflake, Soap & Glory hand cleansing gel, Stila Lipglaze in Dreamy CJ and Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry.
image
This is my purse, I have only had it a few months but it is quite scuffed and scratched already due to loose sharp things in my bag (likes keys). It is the Mulberry Postmans Lock Continental Wallet. It has all the usual things inside, bank cards, ID, store cards and a bit of money.
image
I always, optimistically, have these in my bag in case there is a teeny bit of sun. Its getting much warmer here now so I hope to actually get some use out of these! Its really hard for me to find sunglasses that suit my face shape that are not hideous so I’m happy I bought these. They are Ray Ban Aviators.

I try and drink as much water as possible every day because I get really bad headaches when I’m dehydrated. If I don’t carry a bottle with me I usually forget to drink. These Urbanears headphones were a Valentines day present, the sound quality is much better than my iPod headphones so I tend to use these instead. I love Parma Violets, they are the best thing in the world. I can’t buy them here so I stocked up whilst I was in the UK. I only carry 2 keys, my house key and my key for work. I have a cute pink swiss army knife and a Mulberry strawberry keyring too. Obviously I carry my phone in my bag too but I couldnt really take a picture as its the only camera I have at the moment! I use a Blackberry 9700 with a really cute purple rubber cover.

This was a Christmas present. I love it and I take it everywhere. I get really addicted to games and I spend about 1hr 1/2 travelling every day so it is a great way to kill time. Temple Run is the best because its free!
Obviously the contents of my bag changes with the season; ill carry an umbrella a lot of the time or a hat and gloves if its super cold.
I do not usually carry make up with me because I can’t be bothered with touch ups throughout the day. If I got out for the night I might take some with me. I really think that make up should be able to last you the day, if it doesnt then it isn’t applied correctly or is really poor quality.

eos lip balm

image
I wanted to try this out because the packaging is so cute! I bought the Honeysuckle Honeydew lip balm which is nicely scented but a little sickly. It is 95% organic and 100% natural unlike many of the lip balms I use. It is very moisturising but I find that it doesn’t last very long so I have to reapply it often. It doesn’t really feel like it soaks into my lips either which is a bit annoying.
This is what eos say about their product:
“eos lip balm is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps your lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.”

I don’t think I agree entirely. It is not my favourite lip balm to date, I still prefer Korres lip butter or the bebe rose lip balm. The adorable, ergonomic packaging does make up for the fact it isn’t very long lasting so I’m still happy with it!

Moroccanoil Review

I had heard so many people say how amazing this product was that I really wanted to try it for myself. My hair is really easily damaged by heat so it often looks really dry.
I couldn’t find it anywhere in Switzerland so I thought I would have a look when I got to England. It was really tricky to find even there. I guess I was looking in the wrong places but I tried Boots, Superdrug and Sallys but they didn’t have it. In the end I found a hair salon that stocked it so I bought some. It was more expensive than I had anticipated at 12.80 for 25ml. I didn’t want to invest in the larger bottle if I wasn’t sure it wasn’t going to work for me. I bought the normal rather than the light Morrocanoil Treatment. If your hair is fine or light in colour, the light moroccanoil is probably a better choice.
I really cannot recommend this product enough! I used the teensiest amount- literally a few drops- and it has made my hair feel a lot healthier. It has tamed my frizz and flyaways and made it feel really silky.

e.l.f

I had wanted to buy stuff from e.l.f. for a while now and I finally have. I had it posted to my parents house in England, where it had been waiting for me for over a month!
Everything is so cheap, so I got a bunch of stuff for only about 15 pounds. I can’t remember the prices of everything but I don’t think I paid over 1.50 for anything (apart from the brush cleaner)

I bought the Daily Brush Cleaner because I had heard really good things about it and I was a bit tired of having to either deep clean my brushes daily or just use a gross brush. I was also using expensive eye make up remover on my eye brushes as it was the only thing that would remove M.A.C gel eyeliner. So far I like it, and my brushes do feel considerably cleaner after use.
e.l.f. shimmer Eyeliner Pencil in Boldly Bronzed- I have not actually used this yet, but i swatched it on the back of my hand and the colour is really pretty and thick. It has a built in pencil sharpener in the lid which is pretty handy.
e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Champage- I bought this because I had heard it was as good as the urban decay primer potion. I wasn’t really impressed but I will persevere and try again to see if I get a different result.
e.l.f. Professional Blending Eye Brush- It feels a bit cheap and it isn’t super soft but it does the trick!
e.l.f. Natural Looking Lush Lashes Lash Kit in Black- I bought these on a whim, I actually despise false lashes. I think they look lovely when properly applied but I am awful at doing it. I get really stressed and frustrated and then give up. practise makes perfect so Ill see how I go with these. I know that cheaper lashes tend to be harder to apply because the strip doesn’t bend but I’m hopeful that these will be okay.
e.l.f. Lipstick in Fantasy- This lipstick is really my colour and its really pigmented too which is great. It isn’t particularly moisturising which is a shame.
e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in gunmetal- After I swatched this I was expecting a really great eyeliner but after actually using it I’m a little disappointed. It is not very pigmented and a bit too glittery so it hasn’t really created the effect I had anticipated.
e.l.f. Zip Zapper- This was a but of a random purchase, I have not even tried it yet. I am a little apprehensive because it is a rollerball which doesn’t seem very hygienic to me.
e.l.f. Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Sun Kissed- I really like this, I have not used bronzer in a long time after a bad experience with Benefit Hoola when I was a lot younger which completely put me off bronzers. This is a lovely, light, shimmery bronzer which I would definitely recommend.
let me know if you’ve bought from e.l.f. before and which products you tried!

SHOPPING HAUL

image
On Saturday I decided it was time to finally get foundation from M.A.C because the Sephora foundation really had not been working for me and I was tired of using tinted moisturiser all the time. I got the Matchmaster foundation in 1.5 which apparently is the approximate equivalent of NW15. So far, so good. Its got pretty good coverage and I feel like my skin can still breathe. I like the fact that it has SPF 15 too, I am not really inclined to include suncream in my skin routine so its handy to have it included! My skin is apparently a lot lighter than I thought I, but the foundation does match really well.
I also bought the 116 blush brush at the same time. I had been using a really terrible, old brush so I decided to treat myself. Its lovely and soft but still dense enough to do the trick. I have not cleaned it yet, so I can’t really comment on whether or not it sheds. It doesn’t pick up a lot of product, which is probably a good thing because I have a tendency to over do the blush!
Yesterday I was in Globus and wandered over to the M.A.C counter and despite vowing not to spend any money after my mini-break in England I ended up buying the 190 foundation brush. I did need the brush but I was going to wait until next month before I bought it. I really like it, it is great for full coverage application which, unfortunately, I kind of need at the moment.
I decided a while ago that it was important to have a proper brush collection of good quality brushes. I did have my heart set on Sigma but they are really hard for me to get hold of but M.A.C is really easy. I read a lot of reviews online beforehand and hopefully, with good care, they should last a really long time!
