The Body Shop Strawberry Addiction

OH MY GOD these are the nicest smelling things in the world! They make me want to eat my arm! They smell absolutely divine!
My boyfriend has the Strawberry Body Butter and I just sit at his house smelling the tub and have tried to steal it from him many times.. But I decided to take advantage of the Buy One Get One Half Price offer and buy my own! I also bought the Strawberry Body Polish.

Student Night Haul

Last week there were a number of stores in York who were holding student disco nights with free drinks, cake (urban outfitters), DJs and up to 30% off.  The following 2 items are from Urban Outfitters. Students were given 20% off. The rack that I am using for nail varnish was originally 12.00. Jasmine also bought the same. The mug was reduced from 9.00 to 5.00 before the discount. I love Hello Kitty and Liberty so I am glad they have collaborated.

Freedom at Topshop Haul

We all know the latest jewellery trends at the moment... We've got the crosses, the skulls.. the spikes, the studs and the chains.. All very grungy... what we consider "Edgy" these days.. So to keep on-trend and explore what can be achieved by adding such accessories to outfits I splurged out a bit and bought a variety of such jewellery.. mainly crosses...

NailedIt UK Nails: Love At First Spike Review

UPDATE: I've now had these on a week and they still look perfect! I cut the thumb nail a bit because I can't type or text when it's long. Other than that-good as new!!

Nail art had exploded in the UK in the last year with nail wraps and magnetic varnishes hitting our shelves. NailedIt UK is a pretty new brand, with the site only having been running for 7 weeks, and already has received fantastic feedback and has been featured on a number of beauty sites.

Nail Obsession: Falsies

Ever since I got my first ever professional manicure on my 18th birthday and had Acrylics put on... I HATE the look of my nails without them! I've tried so hard to make my own nails strong and long but I had a bad habit of biting my nails when I was younger.. and this seemed the best solution. As you know with proper Acrylics you have to get them in-filled every 6 weeks... and at £18 a go.. I just couldn't afford to keep it up.
That's where Broadway Nails came in.. They look like the cheap nasty fake nails you can buy in your local pharmacy/cosmetics store, but after trying out a few different brands... this is the one I always come back to. I prefer the Real Life range.. where it's just a blank nail for you to paint over.. not the cheap tacky 'french manicure' ones which just look awful.

Lush Haul

I literally cannot walk past a Lush store without going in for a browse. Unfortunately for my purse there is a store on my route to Uni. I was delighted when I saw that they had Snow Fairy in Stock. Before February I had no idea that it was limited edition, as i had gone in and been told it would not be in stock until next Christmas time. I think everytime I had bought it, I had made it last until the following year. i bought the largest size and it was about 10.00.

Miracle Face Cleanser: Pond's Cold Cream

Raved about by Queen Marie of Romania in the 1920s and more recently by Kylie Minogue in 2010, this cream is literally one of the best things I've ever had the privilege to come across and own! There have been multiple articles about it having 'special powers' to cure your skin. It really works!

OOTD: AUTUMN WARMTH

Zara Bag (see Post)
Accessories from Topshop
Essie Skirting the Issue Nail Polish

This is our first Outfit Of The Day post.. so don't laugh at the photos..
I went to see Kirsty today to bring her food (which she made me take back with me) and just generally catch up after not seeing each other for a couple of days.. As we both now live in York.
I decided on going with an Autumn theme in spirit of this horrid (but beautiful) weather we're having!
Deep Greens and Browns are very in at the moment and very apt for this season.

Recent Purchases: Haircare

I have used Schwarzkopf Gliss products before when I was living in Switzerland and they were quite pricey, so when I saw these for a couple of euros a piece in Kosovo I stocked up. Little did I know that the hair repair spray was only around 1.00 here! I bought the Liquid Silk Express Repair Conditioner. I really like the cashmere hair mask as it leaves my hair super soft and light-feeling. Its always good to have a heavy duty mask in stock.

Philosophy Mini Haul

14.00 each

Hi Girlies, Hope you are all well! These are the things I ordered from Philosophy online when I was still in Kosovo and were waiting for me at my parents house when I got back to England. I had seen Philosophy's iconic bottles loads on Tumblr and thought that they were awesome but when I saw the price I had decided not to bother when there are plenty of alternatives available with similarly cute packaging. I did a bit more research into the brand and completely changed my mind.

NOTD: Essie duo

Sexy Divide and Nothing Else Metals go great together. A deep purple and a shimmery light purple. I debated what design to do on top of the lighter coat and decided on a simple tip. Doing tips free-hand is probably the hardest thing ever! Many touch ups had to be done !

What do you think about these colours? Do you have favourite colours you tip together?

NOTD: Models Own Red Alert

I'm sporting super short nails at the moment, in a bid to get them to grow back stronger. It's a lovely, ever so slightly orange, red red. I've used OPI base and top coat to minimise chipping and add shine. What are your nails painted with at the moment?

Make Up Haul

I have been quite naughty recently with make up, especially with lip products. But a girl can never have too many lipsticks!

Nail Polish Haul

The Models Own polishes were purchased in the recent sale, so they were 50% off (2.50 instead of the usual 5.00).  I bought the shades (Left- Right) Soda Pop Pink, Lilac Dream and Red Alert. I know pastels are not classic winter colours but I have wanted shades like these for a while. I did not have a good, power red before so I am really happy with Red Alert. They are really good quality polishes and only need 2 thin coats before the colour is opaque.

I managed to pick up some Essie Polishes in TkMaxx very cheaply. I got 3 for 7.00 when usually they are more than that for just one. The colours are (L-R) Fiesta, A List and Material Girl.

The other polishes: A lovely BarryM polish from the new Gelly Hi-Shine range in Pomegranate. This is the first polish I have ever bought from BarryM and I am pretty impressed with it. They are inexpensive, so good value for money. This polish does have a very high shine finish, similar to gel nails.

Finally, MAC nail lacquer in Steamy. This is the perfect hot pink! I actually received this as a birthday present and have only just gotten round to trying it. I have not owned a polish from MAC before either and I think that I may have to invest in a few more.

As you can see, the colours are predominantly pink and red, so obviously these will be my most worn colours this autumn.

xoxo Kirsty

Bag Obsession

I felt I had a strong need for a new handbag as I've been carrying the same Purple Longchamp one around for far too long so about £70 needed to be spent to rectify this problem and I think you'll agree that the bags justify the cost.

The first bag I bought is from Warehouse and I bought it for £36 and is called the Formed Clean Shopper. Much like Zara's Plaited Shopper, this bag has a detachable inside pouch and shoulder strap. I think of it as a mini version of the bag.

Nail Varnish Galore!

I've bought 4 Nail Polishes recently.. and I LOVE them! I've changed my nail colour almost every day just so I can get round to wearing them all!

And here they are! Two dark colours and two light...

Haulin'

This is only half the stuff I have bought in the last few days/weeks! You really don't want to know how much I have spent!

But here are my recent purchases (minus last night's buys). I've spent the entirety of my bank balance within the last 10 days, but I just can't help myself when it comes to shopping! I'm sure you can all sympathise!

Keep holding on girlies!

We're so sorry for not posting at all recently; what with starting uni and moving Kirsty to the UK with all her things into her new flat has taken up a lot of our time. We have however bought an insane amount if things; clothes, make-up etc. which we will begin blogging about as soon as we get the chance! Kirsty currently doesn't even have Internet yet so that's her excuse.. Mine.. Well I've been helping her unpack and have been busy looking after the Freshers all week and have been at work and shopping my little heart out. What with being paid and the remainder of my student loan (after paying my rent) I have gone a little crazy with spending recently.. Averaging at spending around £70 in every shop I went into... I have problems... Confessions of a shopaholic much?!

Anyway, I'll start blogging tomorrow or Wednesday as soon as I've been to Topshop to complete my spending spree!

Wish my bank balance luck!
Xx

September Empties

Avène eau thermale spray for sensitive skin. I really enjoyed using this, it made my face feel really fresh after cleansing. I have quite sensitive eyes so it really helped to spritz this over them after removing my eye make up. I wouldn't say this is an essential product but it made a nice addition to my skincare regime. I only bought the mini 50ml can so next time I think I'll buy the biggest as I went through it very quickly.
