January 2013 Empties

I know I've not done an empties post in FORever, but that's because I've had no empties. I've spent the last month trying to use up all the half empty things in my bathroom.

Haircare
Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo: I have bought this a fair few times in the past couple of years. Sometimes my scalp can get really dry and this really does sort it out. It smells really medicinal (I grossly, quite like it) and even after conditioning the smell faintly remains. I have found it to be far more effective than Head and Shoulders.

Aussie Take the Heat Shampoo: I love Aussie products, they make my hair feel so soft and leave it smelling edible. I have replaced this with the Anti-Frizz shampoo because I feel like it does a better job of making my hair manageable and this one didn't really protect my hair from heat in any way.

Aussie Take the Heat Conditioner: Its rare that I finish a shampoo and conditioner at the same time, this is why the bottles are different sizes. In theory, you use more shampoo than conditioner after all. But I usually finish the conditioner long before the shampoo. anyway, its a lovely conditioner, it doesn't do anything special though!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Tropical: Im not a huge fan of dry shampoo, it makes my hair feel disgusting but sort of manages to disguise the fact that it's in need of a wash. It does make my hair quite grey tinged but it smells good and as long as it covers up the rankness of my hair in a rush, i will continue to repurchase it.

Bodycare

Bodyshop Coconut Body Scrub: I love body scrubs and exfoliants but this was sadly one of those products that I used up quickly just so I could get rid of it. It did leave my skin quite soft but was crap at exfoliating. Its not worth the price considering it doesn't do its job. The lemon body scrub is another story!

Nuxe Body Fondant Shower gel: I really liked this, and will probably purchase it again in the future. It smells really good and is soap free (supposedly good for you).

Anatomicals don't just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub: This came in a Glossybox ages ago and I wanted it gone as soon as I first used it. I love grapefruit but this scent is far from it, the exfoliating beads are scratchy and ineffective and I take umbrage with the vaguely sexist product name. zero points from me.

Skincare

Skinetica Anti-Blemish: Another glossybox goodie, i liked it but not enough to repurchase. I don't feel it made a significant difference to my blemishes and had quite a drying effect on my skin.

Burt's Bees Radiance Day Cream: I have had this so long I can't remember getting it. I know it came in a set with a load of other mini Burt's Bees stuff. I really didn't like it, it was too heavy duty for a day cream and smells like something my grandmother would like. It was very greasy, which isn't ideal for my skin type.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Crème ans Sérum: I love these. If I could afford to buy the full sizes I would 100%. They smell great, make my skin look lovely and hydrated and kept me from looking sallow.

Other

OPI Avojuice skinquencher in Winter Huckleberry: I bought these in a set because they are by far my favourite salon hand cream. This one was probably my least favourite scent-wise but it moisturised my hands like a dream with no icky stickiness.

OPI Nail Lacquer in Bubble Bath: This is from the best of collection and exploded in my suitcase when I was flying from Kosovo to London at the beginning of October last year. I managed to use what I rescued. Its a lovely french manicure pink and I will consider repurchasing in the future.

Yankee Candle Black Cherry: This is my favourite Yankee scent, I literally want to eat the candle. I have just repurchased this in the massive size because it was half price. I had this little one for so long, apparently it lasts between 25-40 hours of burning.

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire: It's a nice enough perfume but it's not really me.

Cutex Strengthening nail polish remover: This is pretty standard! Cutex is probably my go to brand for nail varnish remover. This one contained acetone so it was brilliant for removing glitter polishes. It contains vitamins and proteins to prevent brittle nails.

have you tried any of these products?
xoxo Kirsty
