NutriBuddy Breakfast Shake | First Impressions

So the 'New Year, New Me' posts have been cropping up all over the place in the past few weeks, with people promising themselves to be happier, healthier and better this year. For me, I find that setting a New Year's Resolutions is basically setting myself up for a failure; I know myself too well, I know I wouldn't last a week. If you don't make 'em, you can't break 'em! My 'do whenever' goal however does include losing all the weight I've gained since being in a relationship and I am always looking for ways to lose it, long-term.

Without saying "this is the year I do it" and getting annoyed at myself when it doesn't happen, I'm going to make some changes to my lifestyle and diet and just see what happens! So, if I set myself no targets or resolutions, then everything I do is an achievement! Who knows, I may just learn to love my body as it is - though that's almost as unlikely as me losing the 3 stone I want to lose...

When I saw that Nutribuddy* were looking for people to test their Breakfast shake, I jumped at the chance - especially when I saw that it was dairy free! I always find it really difficult to find shakes and protein mixes that are vegan due to the whey protein element, so was pleasantly surprised that this brand was gluten free, dairy free, soy free, cruelty free and sugar free - plus it's free from stabilisers, emulsifiers, thickeners and preservatives too. With all those potentially harmful ingredients excluded, you're left with quite a tasty drink for your busy morning meal.

After choosing the chocolate flavour to try out, I've been using it as a substitute for breakfast for a week now and to be honest, I could actually get used to it as a permanent change to my lifestyle!

My first impressions after opening the PR package was that the packaging (a reusable air-tight glass jar and pink shaker) is really cute and simplistic and from a quick sniff of the open jar, even before I tasted it, I knew I'd like it!

The taste? It basically tastes like chocolate Ready Brek, or Nesquik, whichever you're most familiar with. 3 scoops full mixed with 300-400ml of your choice of milk alternative and you've got a liquid breakfast that's super quick and easy, especially when you're on the go. The texture is basically liquid with a few bits of oats and chia seeds, which means it goes down really easily. At just 118 calories per shake, I'm hoping this swap from a carb filled porridge and demerara sugar breakfast I usually have, means a noticeable loss in weight - but again, if it happens, it happens, I'm not counting on anything incase I get disappointed.

The ingredients are as follows: Organic Gluten-free Oats, Organic Flaxseeds, Organic Chia Seeds, Organic Desiccated Coconut - that's it! It's high in protein, low in fat and completely organic - the best breakfast!

I've usually got meetings in the mornings as soon as I'm at work and always used to get hungry within an hour of eating breakfast, filling the gap with biscuits or fruit - whatever I could get my hands on at work - meaning I was constantly eating. Since drinking this Breakfast Shake, I've felt full right up until lunch and haven't needed to reach for any snacks yet.... YET.

At just £14.99 for a 14 day supply of Nutribuddy's Breakfast Shake, plus £7.99 for the shaker, you can kick-start your 2018 with a small change too and don't forget to head over to our Instagram for 10% off!

I can't wait to see if anything results from this meal change, if any, so once I've used the full 14 days worth of shake powder, I'll write up a full review and hopefully have some good news to share! Stay tuned!

Have you made any lifestyle/diet changes this year?
