TOP L-R: Nars Torrid & Mac Ambering Rose Bottom: Sleek Light 373 Blush |
My favourite blushes include a bit of sparkle, you may have noticed a theme emerging based on the three above! I love Nars for blushes and Torrid really is the perfect shade for me. The MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Ambering Rose was an impulse purchase at Heathrow and I certainly don't regret it. I have to make sure that i'm not heavy handed because it is incredibly pigmented and I can easily end up looking like a clown. Sleek Face Form Contouring & Blush Palette in Light 373 is a bit of a disappointment in terms of contouring- I can do a better job using bronzer and Benefit Highbeam quite frankly but the blush has impressed me. Its actually the same shade that I have in a Sleek Blush Trio somewhere and I think it's called pumpkin something or other. Sleek is definitely the cheapest of these three brands but I highly recommend Nars as a beauty investment.
These are both really very, very similar shades but they have completely different textures and I apply them in different ways. On the right is the Cargo Cheek Activator in Rose Flush which I recently reviewed in more detail here and on the left is the surprisingly good Krylolan for Glossybox Blusher in Glossy Rosewood.

You can see above just how similar they are in terms of colour but that the texture is completely different. The Cargo blush does deepen in colour the more it's rubbed in which is worth bearing in mind. For the swatch I only applied it quite lightly which is why at the bottom is appears quite white.
What are your favourite blushes?
