REVIEW: Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick

I bought this in Sephora as a cheeky treat for myself at the beginning of summer. I wanted to get a bit of use out of it before I reviewed it so I could be more accurate. As you may know by now I am a bit obsessed with packaging (that's not to say ill compromise on the quality of the product) so Chanel for me is one of the most beautiful cosmetic manufacturers.

The tube is very sleek and actually pretty cool. Instead of the usual lid you have to press a sort of spring button thingy to make the lipstick pop out of the tube.

This is a very matte lipstick and left my lips feeling a little dry if I didn't apply lip balm beforehand. But a bit of salve 5 minutes before (tissued off) does the trick. I think its important to exfoliate the lips first too. I bought the colour 34 La Raffinée, it's a beautiful dusky dark-ish pink. I love it. Its very wearable and doesn't bleed so lip liner isn't a must.

It has pretty good staying power as long as you don't constantly wipe your mouth. I think this is a fantastic investment lipstick. At £27 it is quite pricey. I do think it is worth it if you are a matte lipstick lover!
Have you ever tried a Chanel lipstick?
