MARCH empties

Hi Girlies!

One of my new years resolutions was to use up my hoard of products before I buy more so I have been on a bit of a mission to use up half empty bottles and tubes. As a result, this is going to be quite a lengthly empties post!

After reading a ton of rave reviews about the vo5 hot oil Moisture Soak Elixir I had really high hopes. It really irritated my scalp and didn't make any noticeable positive difference to my hair.

This Ducray Nutricreat cream is a sample I was given aaages ago. Its supposed to treat dry ends but i wasn't impressed. I've learnt that the only 'treatment' for scraggly ends is a haircut.

Charles Worthington isn't my go to brand for dry shampoo but I'll try anything once. It was alright, not quite as good as Batiste but it did the job. It was a little harder to rub in and the scent started to get on my nerves. Needless to say I won't be repurchasing any of these!

I can be more positive about these products. Bioderma Micellaire solution is a beautiful product and I am yet to find anything that lives up to it. I have repurchased and I will continue to do so. I bought this Clinique set a while ago because I do adore the Clinique 3-step range. I found this anti-blemish range a teensy little bit too drying although the the clarifying lotion is very effective. Maybe it was just the cleansing foam I had a problem with actually- i've repurchased the moisturiser and the clarifying lotion!
The Organic Pharmacy Enzyme Peel Mask came in a Glossybox a while back and I enjoyed using it although i don't think I would bother buying the full size as it's very expensive and I didn't notice any difference to my skin.
Philosophy Hope in a Jar is a cult product which I really didn't get along with. It moisturised well enough but it smells absolutely foul. unbearably bad in fact.
The Eucerin DermoPurifyer was a free sample, i'm not entirely sure what its supposed to do and it didn't do anything.....

I'm never sure what to include and what not to...Is deodorant TMI? This Nivea calm&care was nice enough and I probably would buy it again as I like cream roll ons.
Jergens Original Body Lotion in cherry-almond smelled deelish when I bought it but after application it had quite a strong chemical after-scent. I like Jergens creams so I would repurchase a different variety- just not this one.
Eco-boutique body lotion arrived in a Glossybox and I can't say I was pleased to see it. It was okay as a product, it took its sweet time to soak in though so I definitely will not purchase the set.
Nuxe is a brand I want to explore more thoroughly, everything I have tried has impressed me. I adore the scent of both of these products and will happily repurchase when I can afford to!
The Body Shop Body Butter is a staple but i'm not too sure about this scent- Spiced Vanilla- It smells great in the pot but smells chemically on my legs. It moisturises like a dream and soaks in super quick so I will definitely be heading back to the Body Shop for another scent soon.

The Body Shop Moroccan Rose EDT has been a fave of mine for years now and I have and will continue to repurchase it. Burberry Body didn't give me the best first impression but it grew on me and I'm considering buying a bottle. Nina Ricci Mademoiselle reminded me of my grandmother quite frankly. BM beauty dewy perfection didn't last very long and I think i'll stick with my MAC powder.

I adore Sephora and wish we had it in the UK so I could treat myself to more products like these. The coconut body wash was fab and left my skin smelling edible and the Blueberry scrub smelled amazing-despite its pathetic exfoliating capabilities. I will definitely try more from the range when I have the opportunity. Soap & Glory Some Like It Hot intrigued me. It was a great scrub, and had a fun warming gimmick. Sadly something happened to mine and it leaked purple liquid and didn't warm up after that. I might repurchase it though and just hope the one I had was a dud batch.

have you tried any of these products? what did you think?

  2. Ouch! Anything that irritates my scalp is a no-no. I don't know what the buzz about VO5 is. It never worked on me.

    1. I really don't understand it, it smells like old man shampoo as well! I much prefer using oil after I've washed my hair! Xo

  3. I love the Clinique Clarifying range, but being pregnant, I can sadly not use it at the moment due to it containing salicylic acid...but its has previously been a lifesaver, so I will start to use it again when I can!
