MAY 2013 Glossybox: 2nd Birthday Box

Hi Girlies, I hope spring is all treating you well! I've had a hectic couple of months so its been a pain trying to squeeze in time for blogging which is why I have such a backlog of lovely products to blog about, including 3 glossyboxes.
I love spring because its finally okay to switch from dark, red hues of nail polish to pastels and brights and allows me to be a bit more experimental with make up looks.

I don't mention this every month because I assume you know what Glossybox is but I thought I should just reiterate that it's a monthly subscription beauty box that comes in the post, containing about 5, often luxury, samples or full sized products. It only costs around £10 plus p&p, but you can find out more at glossybox.co.uk. This box had a value of nearly £50.

This months glossybox is their second anniversary box which had my hopes set high. I stupidly had it delivered to my parents address, but fortunately the delivery coincided with a trip down to Hertfordshire from York.

It's the same box as usual but with bright ribbon and tissue paper/ padding with a Birthday theme. I  am not overwhelmed with the contents of this box but there are definitely a few items I'm really keen to try out.

PAUL MITCHELL AWAPUHI WILD GINGER SHINE SPRAY is 'proven to restore weak and damaged hair' and make it nice and shiny whilst protecting hair. This can be used before or after styling. It smells really refreshing and I'm looking forward to trying it next time I wash my hair. This is the full size and it retails for £18.95.

I was in desperate need of a new mascara and last month I went and bought 2. I wish I'd waited for this months box because it includes JELLY PONG PONG FAIRY LASHES MASCARA. The packaging is super cute as it comes in a pretty large box. It's water resistant and curls and thickens lashes. I am definitely excited to try this out. This is obviously the full size mascara and costs £15.

The random extra this month was a little booklet of nail files with the glossybox logo on. They are pretty handy if you're somebody who carries around nail files. These are definitely more convenient than a normal full sized one.

Another purchase I made last month was liquid eyeliner (I really need to learn to be patient). This one is called FAST STROKE EYELINER from COLLECTION. Apparently it's a firm favourite with beauty lovers everywhere! I'm not a mad fan on liquid eyeliners that require dipping but I'm willing to give it a go. Glossybox says its 'handy size makes it the perfect travel companion' which is frankly hilarious because I've never heard of a giant liquid eyeliner that is inconvenient for travel. This is the full size which is priced at £2.99.

Another nail polish this month, this is POOLSIDE PARTY from HEADLINE COLOURS. I've never heard of this brand before and claims to be less likely to flake and chip as well as being free from toxins. The colour is a nice blue-green thats perfect for this time of year. The packaging feels quite cheap considering this full size bottle costs £9.

Lastly is a rather intriguing product that I'm looking forward to using: PRIME & CREATE MIXING MEDIUM from BEAUTIFUL MOVEMENTS COSMETICS which was previously called BM beauty. This teeny tiny pot is worth £2.50 and is full of a clear gel which can be turned into pretty much be used for anything in a make up routine. Used with foundation it gives an airbrushed effect and turns powder blush or bronzer into a cream. It can even be used alone as shine-free primer. This is probably the most interesting product in this months box and hopefully lives up to its claims.

What was in your Glossybox this month?

Xoxo Kirsty
