This Kat Von D Metal Crush eyeshadow in Thunderstruck was not on my US product wish list, and was a total blind purchase. I didn't read a single review of even google swatches but my aunt that was allowing me to use her home address for US post recommended this and I was feeling frivolous so I went for it. I'm not usually much of a fan of single eyeshadows (unless they can go in a mac or ingot palette), they take up too much space and I tend to neglect them in favour of palettes with a bit of variety. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the eyeshadow because Kat Von D is actually owned by Sephora and I haven't been overly impressed with the pigmentation or durability of eyeshadows i've tried from there in the past.
The paraben free formula is very long wearing and this shade is so utterly multifunctional. I use it for highlighting my brow bone and well as the inner corners of my eye. It's such a perfect highlighting shade that I also use it on my cheeks & nose. The packaging isn't anything special, but it seems pretty sturdy which is all that really counts. Kat Von D isn't a typically embellished and adorned product line, and the products speak for themselves anyway.
I swatched it with the lightest possible touch, it is just so so pigmented. It's perfectly iridescent but doesn't have any real colour to it, making it perfect for all skin tones.
My camera seems incapable of focussing recently, but believe me, Thunderstruck shines! If you're feeling brave and are placing a Sephora order, you can find the Metal Crush Eyeshadows here. They retail for $21 each and i've got my beady eye on Synergy, a lovely metallic bronze.
