I bought the 3D White Whitestrips by Crest nearly 2 months ago on eBay. The large boxes can be very pricey, but you can buy a weeks supply for around 10.00. I am not happy with my teeth and I (like many people) would love to have whiter teeth. I am not keen on paying my dentist 100s to do it so I thought I'd give an at-home kit a bash.
I had read a few reviews of these, but they were all sponsored so I couldn't trust the verdicts. It was also really tricky to find before and after pics online. I havn't included any because I am am idiot and forgot to take a Before photo and an After photo is completely redundant without a Before.
I bought the gentle routine strips because I have very sensitive teeth. My dentist probably wouldn't recommend I do any whitening treatments because I risk damaging my already weak enamel. But i'm fickle and vain so I did.
In each sachet you get a strip for your top and bottom row of teeth. I think the official advice is to leave them on for 5 minutes but I left them on for 30. I did this every day for a week and I did notice a slight improvement. It wasn't startling, or anywhere near what I was hoping for (a miracle). I think I will give the stronger strips a go next time.
what home whitening system works for you?

I've been wanting to try Crest for a while but with the price I was a bit iffy.
ReplyDeleteI used whitening strips called Whizzer before. You get enough strips for once a day for a month or twice a day for two weeks. I cant remember whether I used them twice a day or once a day but you basically put them on and they dissolved on your teeth after about 10-15 minutes. I noticed a little difference but a few people noticed quite a difference! I might just stick with what I know worked!
If it workd for you, even if only slightly, it's worth sticking with. I'm going to keep looking for something with really visible results. Or maybe try a different type of whitestrips other than sensitive. Ill have a look into Whizzer :)

I haven't really used much teeth whitening products, I guess I'm never too sure if there going to work so I don't want to spend too much money on them xx
ReplyDeleteThey can be really expensive :( Mixing some lemon juice with bicarbonate of soda and cleaning your teeth with it can be a good, cheap alternative. Just make sure you rinse thoroughly afterwards because it can damage your enamel :s
DeleteMost home whitening kits don't contain enough active ingredients to be effective because they can be dangerous.

I love Crest White Strips and I wish they were easier to get a hold of here in the UK. The results were absolutely amazing. The only downside for me was that I have really sensitive teeth anyway and I couldn't use them for more than 3 days in a row or I'd be woken up by shooting pains in my teeth! Not fun cc
ReplyDeleteArgh, sounds painful! I think if I get the normal strength strips I will see much better results but I am worried about the effect on my "dental health".
DeleteIt's so annoying to have to buy from eBay/amazon- but I read somewhere than the level of peroxide exceeds the eu limit so they can't be sold in stores here. It's worrying and may be completely wrong but it would explain why!

I never know with these. I really want white teeth. A friend used these and said they made her teeth sensitive but a clean and polish at the dentist helped and she'd do it again. I also know someone who picked up a cheap groupon deal. Again she had pain for 24 hours but has been really please with her results :) M x
ReplyDeleteI guess it's down to how much pain you are willing to go through for white teeth! I hadn't thought to check groupon actually. I think I'd be happier having a dentist doing it for me but the whitestrips are so much more affordable. I will give it another bash and if i don't get the teeth shade I want I'll start saving! Xo
DeleteCrest Whitestrips are great. Fantastic blog post!
