September: What's In My Make Up Bag

 I try and rotate the contents of my make up bag every month so that I don't forget about a product or neglect a lip colour. Make up doesn't last forever and it seems silly to hoard for the sake of hoarding. I'd much rather get as much use as possible out of my make up. Obviously if i'm going for a certain look ill swap out a few products but these are pretty much the basics.

In terms of face base i've been skipping the primers as my skin doesn't seem to like them in the heat. I've been using Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm. When I first started using this I loved the formula and the finish but I've started to go off it a bit. It leaves my skin with a bit of a grey tinge which is probably because I'm tanned after the summer. I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Dark on top of this.

I get really bad under eye bags when I don't sleep well and Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Beige has been my saviour. I use Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Deep to cover the odd blemish. I can't really say I understand the hype surrounding this product, it's not the best concealer i've ever used and the packaging is awful, it really annoys me that the label print wears off so quickly.

I've cut back on the contouring as it was getting a bit time consuming so i've just been swiping on a bit of NARS Torrid. For my brows i've been obsessed with the Sleek Brow Kit in Dark. I use the wax to define my brows and then fill them in lightly with the powder. I use a MAC 263 to do this because the tiny brushes that came with it were too fiddly.

Keeping it simple on my eyes i've been using the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Palette in 79 Spices for a neutral look. I really like the Chanel Palettes but they can't really compare to the pigmentation in the Naked palette. Next up is my trusty Illamasqua Precison Gel Liner which I recently reviewed here. Its really easy to smudge for a smokey effect or draw the perfect cat eye. 

I'm not very loyal when it comes to mascara and i'm willing to try any, I really like the L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic because its easy to apply to every eyelash and looks lovely after 2 coats. 

Last but not least is my new favourite lip product- YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in 19 Beige Aquarelle. I've had this for a really long time but it's just sort of been lurking in my make up box undisturbed. It smells like raspberry petit filous and actually looks like more of a nudey/sheer pink on the lips.
