Summer Empties: Face

I've split this post into two, otherwise it would get far too long and ramble-y. They are roughly divided Face-Body/Hair just to give you an idea of what's coming tomorrow. All of these empties are technically from the very end of June when I was leaving my flat in York. There I was, packing boxes, when I realised I still hadn't photographed the empties i'd been hoarding. That's my excuse for the dodgy pictures at any rate, I was in a mad rush and just wanted to put it all in the bin.
Quite a few mascaras, right? I must admit that I tend to ignore the 3 month rule and only throw out mascara when the consistency has changed/they smell funny. Obviously if i'd had an eye infection i'd check 'em all and I never, never share (ew). I'll list quickly what they are:
  • MAC Studio Fix BoldBlack Lash
  • Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof
  • Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes
  • Maybelline The Colossal Cat Eyes
  • MAC Studio Fix Lash
  • Benefit They're Real
  • Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara (I think)

My favourite was definitely They're Real and I've already repurchased, the only downside is how quickly it dries out. Mine lasted about a month and that wasn't even daily use. Clarins was a major disappointment, I love their skincare but I'm not sold on the mascara. Maybelline Great Lash is a make up bag staple, just not the waterproof version. As for the rest, I won't be repurchasing- I liked the MAC mascara, but I don't really think they are worth the price.

Benefit POREfessional, Dr Renaud Raspberry Soft Cream, Nivea Tinted Moisturising Day Cream
I like POREfessional, a lot, and Boots often had a voucher you could print off with your advantage card for a free mini in my local store. As a result, I had 3 minis, and I've not had to purchase the full size yet. I fully intend to because it does absolute wonders.
The Dr Renaud came in a Glossybox a while back, and I really, really liked the scent. I don't think I will buy it because it didn't really do anything for my skin. Nivea tinted moisturiser was a favourite of mine before the advent of BB creams, I think now I've seen that the grass is greener, I won't bother with this again.

OPI Avojuice hand creams are my favourite in the world. I bought a set of 6 minis from amazon, because I didn't want to invest in one super salon-sized bottle of one scent when I could try a bunch of different ones. The mango is definitely one of the nicer scents and when they are all gone I'll be buying more.
Alison Claire is a brand with a really good ethos, and I really enjoyed using this Mango Body Butter. It 'soaked' in really quickly and smells divine. If I ever finish my gigantic stash of body creams, this is at the top of my shopping list.
Last, but not least, EOS lip balm in Honeydew & Honeysuckle, this was another buy from Amazon because they aren't available in the UK (Boo). It was so, so much better than my Balmi. It clearly got absolutely filthy rolling around my handbag, but it was really nourishing and the scent was delicious.

What products have you finished this month?

  1. I really liked the porefessional too. I'll have to keep my eye out for that offer.
